ABOUT US

Upstate Parent magazine started in 2000, the idea of two Upstate moms, Wendy Hilton and Brook Schelble. Along with their families, friends and associates, they created Greenville Parent magazine as a resource for Greenville-area parents and families.

About a year later, Greenville Parent was purchased by The Greenville News. Under the leadership of General Manager Sudie Gambrell, the magazine expanded in size and began distribution in Spartanburg and Pickens counties. Around 2002, the magazine's name was changed to Upstate Parent.

During the past 16 years, Upstate Parent has focused on being the Upstate's No. 1 resource for families. We strive to provide local, relevant content written to the highest standards of journalistic integrity. We know today's families are busier than ever. As times have changed, so has Upstate Parent. Today's Upstate Parent offers locally sourced, family-focused content that is actionable, helpful, informative and entertaining.

Our team includes editor Angie Campbell and photographer Cindy Hosea. Together, they have more than 30 years of combined journalism experience. Long-time local contributors include senior contributing writer and calendar editor Chris Worthy, and contributing writer and Just for Moms section coordinator Jennifer Weaver. Our sales team is led by sales manager Terrie Easley, who has extensive experience in the Greenville media marketplace.
